Full movie of the day: Lord of the Rings, the animated version from 1977
While I really like the modern Peter Jackson versions of the Lord of the Rings story, I’ll always have a warm place in my heart for the Fantasy Films version from 1977. Plus, yesterday would have been Tolkien’s 120th birthday and you didn’t get him a present.

It’s also all fun and games until you take your VHS copy of this to college with you and discover it has been taped over with scrambled porn. SCRAMBLED PORN! Damn you man, couldn’t you have chosen a different tape? At least The Last Unicorn stayed safe.
